Dr. David Foster
Dr. David Foster is a popular speaker, and Pastor of The Gathering in Nashville, Tennessee. The Gathering is a movement of Christ’s followers who have come together to create environments and experiences where real people connect to God and each other for the purpose of changing the world.
Started by Dr. Foster and his wife Paula in the fall of 2006, The Gathering sprang from a strategy that comes out of the new realities we face in this wall-less, wireless, worn-out world. Taking into account the use of the internet and current technologies, The Gathering extends the message of Jesus Christ without the traditional limitations of distance, and brick and mortar. Currently, there are approximately 1,000 in attendance weekly at The Gathering in downtown Nashville.
Foster was also the founding pastor of Bellevue Community Church, one of the fastest growing churches in Tennessee. BCC was planted 15 years ago without money, land, or permanent buildings, with a concept outlined on a napkin by Dr. Foster during lunch in a restaurant with his wife Paula. He and his family, along with nine adults living in the Bellevue area, began meeting in the theater of the Bellevue Middle School in 1989. From those humble beginnings and with the commitment of its members and the blessing of God, BCC has become one of the fastest growing churches in Middle Tennessee.
